Styling A Lazy Empress

Kit has notoriously bad style. She wears pajamas everywhere, even to official functions and the like! Thankfully, she and Ruthie realized that an intervention was in order and hired me to style her. So, without further ado, here are some comfortable looks an incredibly lazy monarch.

Kit looks formal and prepared in this ensemble, featuring a cozy dress, smart blazer, warm socks, and cute flats. How'd I get her to agree to try it on?

Surprise! The dress is actually a nightgown. But nobody need know that if her jacket's buttoned.

This business-casual outfit features a soft sweater; loose, gentle chinos that I couldn't talk her into ironing; sweet flats; and her pajama top. Yep, you read that right! The pajamas blend in here because the print complements other features of her outfit. It's the only loud piece here, but it works since it adds interest without becoming tacky.

Kit already has an ally in her short hair. It looks good down or pulled back, so she has to do minimal work in order to make it cooperate. Plus it frames her cute – I mean majestic – face quite well.

Meet my best friend: Katie Maxwell-Albright!

Alright, everyone, before you meet anyone else, you have to meet my best friend ever, Katie. In fact, let's just introduce her whole family while we're at it. Here she is with her siblings, Chrissa (in the double bathrobes...yeah, I imagine she'll be featured here enough) and Vi (in the pajamas). Don't get me wrong, her siblings – and her moms – are awesome, but they're not the most fashion-forward.

Katie's a lot like me: she's pretty, witty, and incredibly fashionable. So, as you can imagine, it's not every day that I get the opportunity to dress her! Tonight, though, she's going out to dinner with her girlfriends (both of whom are good friends of mine, actually - you'll meet them soon, I promise!), and wanted my help creating a perfect outfit.

I chose a purple halter top, white vest, and playful-yet-sophisticated patterned skirt. The top and vest do a great job of complementing the skirt, which brings out Katie's clear blue eyes wonderfully. We decided not to accessorize tonight; we thought the outfit was just busy enough on its own, and that any more pieces would detract from the overall look. Besides, Katie's features are gorgeous enough; she doesn't really need anything else!

Hello all! My name's Lily Savannah, and I am here to embark on a fashionable journey with you. Just to give you an idea of my personal style, here's my outfit of the day:

It's not the best photograph; my twin sister Mia took it for me.

 See, I was hanging out in my cryopod the other night, when I got a call from my local Empress of the World, Kit, asking for help with her wardrobe. We arranged a meeting for the next day, which she was an hour late to. (No, I am not bitter about that at all. She's an Empress of the World; she has important TV watching – I mean, cultural education – to attend to.)

Anyway, it was clear right off the bat why she enlisted my help. I think this picture, also taken by Mia, explains it pretty well:

Indeed, Kit was trying to rock a casual, effortless look...by wearing her pajamas. Not to worry, I'll have this Empress – as well as my other friends – in fashionable yet appropriate clothing in no time at all. Keep reading to find out how I manage to execute it!
